EUDR moves the deforestation question from the forest to the importer's desk: if you place wood or paper products on the EU market, the due-diligence obligation is yours. For boards, utensils and baking paper this is not abstract — it is our product categories, which is why we track it.

The obligation sits with the party placing goods on the EU market — the importer — regardless of where the supplier sits.
What due diligence requires
Product scope confirmation (HS codes in the annex) · supply-chain information down to production plots — species and geolocation data from the supply side · a due-diligence statement lodged before placing on the market · records kept. The practical weight lands on information flow from the producer, which is exactly where an organised supply chain earns its keep: species and origin documented at specification time, not reconstructed at deadline time.
Our wood programs already specify species per SKU — acacia, bamboo, rubberwood, beech — because the specification discipline that makes a good board happens to be the same discipline EUDR now demands. The regulation rewards buyers who already know what their products are made of.
Common questions
Bamboo is botanically a grass and sits differently in scope than timber species — scope is checked per HS code, per product, against the current annex, not assumed.
Deferred, not exempt: mid-2027 arrives quickly, and your customers may demand compliance earlier than the law does.
